I have no slow drives. All my drives are the same exact speed except for my raid which is only faster for playback – not recording.

The length of time that the rendering is taking has very little to do with drive speed. I has to do with the plugins taking time to do what they do. With the same video clip with the plugin off the rendering takes about 4 times less time.

Its faster to render to a different drive other than the system drive or where the original video files reside hence having a third drive. If you mean Creative Cow has a Noise Industries forum they do and thanks for the information. I posted my question there. Noise Industries does not have their own forum on their site that I can find though. Best

Thanks for your input. I am not rendering to ProRez. The renders are the same as the source HDV 1080i60 (1440×1080). If I export the 1.5 minute clip it takes about 4 minutes as well. If someone who uses these plugins could see what speed they are seeing it would be of interest. I was hoping it could be speeded up but I may be dreaming.
