The Pro Tools audio mixer said the dual mono audio does not provide the best sound quality and that he has to do a lot of extra work on his end to turn it into stereo.

Hi Ryan,

I’m still using El Capitan. Plan on updating once I’ve finished the batch of shows I’m currently editing. I ended up generating the TC in FCPX, exporting a Quicktime video and then sending to Compressor to make the file small enough for the Pro Tools session.

I’m using a BlackMagic Design UltraStudio Express for my speakers and broadcast monitor. I can also connect a beta deck to the UltraStudio. Correct?

From the Blackmagic website:
“UltraStudio Express has built in 3G-SDI and HDMI connections and includes consumer RCA and professional BNC/XLR breakout cables for analog component/S-Video and composite, analog audio, genlock, AES/EBU audio, RS-422 deck control and more.”

Hi Shane,

Yes, the iMac has Thunderbolt. I use one port for the Promise RAID and the 2nd for my extra monitor.

Thanks so much Rainer! I import the clip into Soundtrack Pro after doing the 23.98 to 29.97 conversion?

Hi Shane,

Have these settings worked with clips over 5 minutes? I read that the problem is because my clips are over 5 minutes. I’ll give it a go when I get back to the office this afternoon.
