Thanks for the response. I booted the computer in 64 mode and tried to install. I got it working. I had to download an older version of CUDA to make it work. It seems to be running pretty smoothly now. The only issue I have now is most of my files are MTS or AVCHD and while I can edit it them and they play smoothly it won’t import sound. I was hoping with a program a little more professional it would be able to handle it. I usually edit those files in Premiere or when I have a tiny bit of video I just use windows live movie maker. I was really hoping that I wouldn’t have to convert the file until I needed to export it like I do in Premiere. Do you know if there is any way I could possibly get sound with these videos? or I’m just going to have to convert it to a different file type?

July 14, 2015 at 11:24 pm in reply to: A good resume for business

Thank you for the input. I appreciate it! I have a degree in Digital Media and I’m sort of a jack of all trades when it comes to graphic design and digital work as well as print work and physical artwork. I would really want to work for a graphic design company, doing custom artwork for clients or provide promotional media and marketing services for a company. I’m just really struggling with how to make all of the different areas I work in look professional on my resume.

Thank you for all the replies and advice. Craig, I get sent files quite a bit to be edited and updated especially with businesses who want me to build on something they have made themselveS.

The only problem with me buying CS6 is that if a client sends me newer files I obviously won’t be able to open them. I guess there’s really no solution.

  • Thank you for the response. I’m going to attempt again to get in touch with some of the bigger youtube channels to see if I can find who they went through to get permission to talk about celebrities and games and stuff like this. Problem is they never get back and neither do companies I’ve tried to contact like nickelodeon. I don’t even get a response back about the subject even if I called and left a message. How do I even go about asking about celebritries or showing an image?

What gets me is I know that there is more leeway with what you can put in youtube monetized videos as opposed to like broadcast tv. I know someone who had a song on youtube that has a lot of views and makes money but when it was licensed for tv commercial he had to change some of the lyrics because it was ok for youtube but couldn’t be on tv without a paid broadcast license for the brand he referenced. I find this subject so confusing because everyone you talk too will say something different most of the times when it comes too what do I have to ask permission for and what I don’t

Hmm… That’s very strange. I just opened 13×19 PDF in Illustrator and saved it with no trouble. I’m not using CC though. I’ve found a couple glitches since I started using it. I found that making I had updated AI and a reinstall of the software fixed most problems.

Hello Moog! The way that you described should have worked. Is the dark blue line a closed shape or a line?

Here is another option to try. Select both layers and in your pathfinder panel go use divide. Deselect the artwork. Come back and double click on the blue line to enter isolation mode. You should then be able to just click on the blue line and delete it.

You can also try doing the same technique with the merge option.

    Hope this helps!

May 3, 2015 at 5:30 pm in reply to: Bleed lines in Illustrator

    Hi, Camryn!

A bleed is the part of artwork that runs off the edge of the printing area of a document before the document is trimmed down to size so Illustrator sets the bleed outside the artboard. You need to scale your artwork up to fit where the bleed lines are. When you go to print the artwork it will put marks where the corners of the artboard are for trimming. Bleeds are for printing so if you need to see where the edges of your artboard is while designing you will have to add guides.

    Hope this helps!

  • Thanks!

May 1, 2015 at 11:27 pm in reply to: Opening AE CC 12 files in CS 5.5.

I’ve looked all over the Adobe website and I only found trials of some CS6 products but I didn’t find one for AE. I found the software download for CS6 though. I even tried installing it anyways just to see if it would offer a free trial option and it needed a key so no trial option. I’ve talked to multiple people and none of them have been able to find it for AE CS6 even with a cloud membership. Only finding CS6 for only a handful of products.

I don’t have the option of getting the file in 5.5 from the source.
