    I don’t understand the response but since A seems to be working for me I’ll stick with that.
    in response to the suggestion to render to .avi i tried that and not only did it give even a more bloated result (863 megs vs. 528 for the jpeg_A), the result was noticeably more pixelated.

    is there a difference between JPEG A and JPEG B?
    it does really inflate the file.
    I tried it with a 3 minute segment ripped from a dvd and it blew it up to 500mB

    thanks for your quick response
    but in the render as menu I only see quicktime 7(mov)
    where would I find quicktime motion?
