During the tutorial I wondered why the made it with so many paths. It seemed to me like the whole process could have been easily done in photoshop. Anyhow I deleted almost all unnecessary paths which turned into splines into Cinema 4d, so it was only like under 1- paths. thats how I was able to get a cleaner 3d, for the most part it came out decent, other than the l c and y. So yeah I deleted those unneccesary paths in cinema 4d, however it still created those chunks. How do you suggest going about cleaning this up. Keep in mind im new to illustrator, so talk to me like a 7 year old, lol. Thanks again guys.

March 4, 2010 at 7:32 pm in reply to: Extruded nurb does something weird to my illustrator textI only see for movies and pictures is it allowed to upload to a site like megaupload and then to hyperlink it in a message that would be easier. The file is relatively small

March 4, 2010 at 1:56 am in reply to: Extruded nurb does something weird to my illustrator texthere is the file out of illustrator as you could see no added junk, the red outlines are interpreted as material in Cinema 4d, while the black is supposed to be interpreted as open space. as evidenced by the letters below:
here is the file how i’d like it to be, and this is when i choose the fillet:

here is the file when I choose cap, as you can see its extra material on the l, the c, and the y
pretty much the same result, this is how I would like the initial 3d text to look ideally here is the file when I choose fillet cap, as you can see its extra material on the l, the c, and the y.
I would like all the letters to kind of look like the g, the e and a are good, other than they have material in the letter that shouldn’t be there however it is fine, the c has that little piece, and the y and l have pretty noticeable added pieces of material, as well the y has some space that should be empty. Again thanks guys.

March 3, 2010 at 9:46 pm in reply to: Extruded nurb does something weird to my illustrator textChecked the outline in illustrator, and it looks exactly like the outline when its imported in cinema 4d no problems, also when its imported its several splines in the object manager, however only two of the splines have this problem, ill try connecting them however

March 3, 2010 at 8:02 pm in reply to: Extruded nurb does something weird to my illustrator textFirst off guys thanx for responding. Secondly yes adam I can upload a picture of the 2 files, whats the image uploader that people normally use around here so I can upload the pictures. Jeremy, this was my first time really using illustartor and cinema 4d, however i know when im visibly looking at the picture as well as when i look @ the image in cinema 4d it looks perfect, if even looks perfect when I add the extrude nurb and set the rounding to just fillet, however when i set the rounding to fillet cap, which has my desired effect things go crazy, The junk material even moves around the letter when I switch some of the settings, so I know the real text i want is under that junk. Ill take your suggestion and look at the outline again in illustrator however idk what it could be. I’ll check your suggestion and check the outline Jeremy in the meantime ill try and upload some pics
