We have been using the jvc 200 and we like it for the viewfinder although it is only 1/3 chips. It shoot decent but I don’t know about flipping the viewfinder to the left. Have you sold your 700 or is it just too used to bother.

I have the same problem. I recorded directly to dvd using a sony pd170 directly into a panasonic dvd recorder. Then playing the dvd out passing through a jvc deck with firewire out, I captured it into premier 2. The caputured avi plays perfect in windows media player. In premier it starts losing sync at about 35-40 minutes. It must have something to do with the audio conforming in premier. I have been told the this method works perfect in Final Cut. My audio sync isn’t frame critical so I just cut my capture into about 35 min clips and then edited them together. It worked ok, but it is a hassle. I am still looking for a way to solve this problem if anyone could make a suggestion.
