don’t know the camera, I just grabbed the raw footage from an old FCP job. They’re still in the cam a,b & c folders. In the videos folder they all read .mxf. I have no avid folder structure, these are just loose files that I pulled from a job so I can start messing around in avid.

    Never mind, it’s finally up….

  • Thanks Gary. Eventhough I’ve been using FCP for a very long time I started and learned on Avid. Since the future of FCP is a mystery (but it’s pretty evident where it’s heading) I decided to relearn Avid and I was stressing about having to plop down $2500 for software, you just made my day!

    Thanks Again.

awesome! I was just saying to my wife how much I don’t want to have to spend $2500 on new software. That Avid was crazy for not extending that FCP promotion since FCPX came out, they’d get soooo many convert!! My prayers have been answered!!

    is there any upgrade limitations?

  • update….

I’ve been on the phone with apple for HOURS trying to figure this issue out and basically they have no idea what the problem is and without me even asking or suggesting they gave me a full refund!? So as of now they do not seem like they have any idea as to what is happening, they did say that they are aware of the problem and they have other cases that are the same. So I know have a free version of Final Cut Pro X (non updateable) which takes a little bit of the bad taste out of my mouth but doesn’t change the fact that FCPX is not for Pro use at all. If the updates come then I will maybe repurchase, but for now I’ll consider myself a “beta tester”. Good luck to the rest of you guys with the same issue..
