Let me check this out. This makes since to me also. This system has just been moved to a new room and I didn’t do the hook-up.

Maybe I’m not being clear. When you capture live from a switcher the file is an avi file. Before anything is done to edit it should I be able to take the avi file give it to some one to open in Final cut Pro? If I try to open it in Window media player ot Quicktime all that plays is the video, there is no sound.
If I open the same file in Vegas the sound track shows up and plays fine so the audio is there. What I had to do is render the file as a .mov file then it would play fine. I hope I’m explaining this right. Maybe I don’t have it set up right?
By the way this is on Vegas 6, I have another computer running Vegas 8.
