Paul, after I posted my SOS message, a friend helped me solve the problem by phone. Here’s what I did: Go to Macintosh HD, click Library, click Preferences, click Final Cut Pro User Data, throw to trash the three Final Cut Pro Icons, empty trash. Reboot. It worked for me. Hope it works for you.
