or should I try to get the 3.0 ghz version? Are i5 good enough for video editing

Is it possible to preprogram keyboard keys for splicing, ripple edit, cut, paste, etc? sometimes I edit videos with 500 tiny clips.

Do you think switching from vegas to final cut is a bigger step than vegas to premiere? Which of the two big apps are closer to how vegas would work? Im just afraid of the growing pains period since I am so used to Vegas.

Is there a way to send a specific clip that is already on the timeline to the end of the time line without having to click and drag it over?

I usually do not use the trimmer, I just drag and drop files directly to the timeline, then trim quickly and move the clips around, but there has to be a faster way especially dealing with 700 clips this time on a time crunch.

I tried the highlight and it didn’t work, all the files rendered

Not sure about that, I am using audio from two or three different sources (phone, shot gun mic, lapel mic) in one clip and I don’t know what their configurations are.
What exactly am I looking for that affects the synchronization?

ive already disabled resampled. I’m going from 50 fps to 25 fps or 30 fps and have this problem while rendering in mp4.
it’s fine to render to .wmv but .wmv doesn’t allow for GPU render, which the mp4 does and saves me 1/3rd of the time.
Maybe my audio bitrate is too high? should i just set it to 192k and be done or raising it 320K cause the lack of synchronization?

The problem is, I’ve tried the mp4 Internet HD mode that people recommended, but my audio doesn’t seem to be insynced with my video and the motion looks weird. I’m shooting at 50 fps and 30 fps and editing it down to 25 fps. I do this same thing while i render to .wmv and the audio and video syncs are fine.

thanks. What is the down arrow?

Is there a tool to send a chunk of files on the timeline to the front of the timeline behind clips? I tend to trim my clips right on the timeline because I find it to be fastest, but doing dragging or mass dragging of the clips is a pain.

Is there a tool to make sure that there are no black spaces or gaps between each clip if I accidently dont line the clips up perfectly?

oh, and I’m currently rendering out to .wmv and recording .mp4, however, .wmv is great quality but on my laptop, it takes way too long. Is there another type of format I should try that will make the files smaller? I know many of you will say .mp4, but the ones ive tried haven’t looked right to me.

Wow, thank you guys. I realized that even after using vegas for almost 10 years now, I’m still completely not using it the best way possible. are there any other tips or any videos you recommend for tips and not just the basics?
