Thank you both, we really appreciate the info! We will attempt this at some point, and hope for a successful outcome.

I see the following:
Media 100 Producer Preferences folder with these contents:
Current Config
Media 100 xq Pedestal Setting
NTSC
PALAlso seeing separate files:
com.media100.media100producer.plist
“”registration.plist (one to keep)That’s all I can see that’s m100 related, some Boris/Composite Suite pref files. Does that sound right?

As far as I can see, there is no option for an error report. Once the footage starts to acquire, the program completely closes out to the desktop.

Hi Matt-
We are acquiring from tape. You press play in the window, the deck rolls and you can see the footage playing on the deck itself, but the computer hangs up for a second and then immediately crashes- we never see the footage on the computer’s monitor window and we don’t even get the opportunity to click start to acquire. Yes, it is HDV footage coming from a Sony HVR- M25U HDV deck connected to the systems via firewire. No crash log that I see when it happens, but if you can tell me where to look, I can check. Thanks!

There was no error message- when you hit the space bar or the play button the CTI indicator just wouldn’t move. Same if you tried to look at a clip in the bin. And the strangest things is that I tried several otehr projects and the same thing happened. It was like Media 100 simply broke for no apparent reason. I fixed it by upgrading to 13.0.4, but I am now wondering what to do if it happens again.

January 29, 2009 at 8:44 pm in reply to: QuickTime 7.6 Resolves Issue with Media 100 i and MJPEG B CodecsOk then, back to 7.5. I had tried the “create a new project and bring the bins in” solution this morning to find that it didn’t work, and I was hoping someone had something else to try. Ah well- thanks for the input guys, and I appreciate your attempts to solve the problem.

January 27, 2009 at 9:11 pm in reply to: QuickTime 7.6 Resolves Issue with Media 100 i and MJPEG B CodecsI’m interested to hear the results here because I have the exact same set up (M100 8.2.3 on a G4 running Mac OS 10.4.11) and am seeing the exact same problem with the pink keyframes. No other errors, but it would be nice to be able to visually identify your clips. We use our system almost daily as well- we’re a small Community Television station, and it still works really well, so it would be nice to know if I need to revert back to 7.5 again. Thanks!

Floh, you are the best- that completely solved the issue. Not sure why I was getting that result in the 1st place, but from now on I will export as a DV stream to avoid it. I will also get the 12.6 update just to make sure my software is up to date and working properly.
Again, thanks so much. This forum is so much help!
