Thanks to Chris and Paul for responding. After some experimentation I belive that this is as good as I can expect. BTW, the Media Encoder does a fine job.

February 28, 2012 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Strange Rosco Axiom and Cool Light LED600 comparisonSorry to delay getting back to this. I did purchase 2 Cool Lights and so far have been happy. I say “so far” only because I haven’t used them too much. I was able to do a side by side comparison with a Lite Panels 12×12 and, for shear output, the Cool Light absolutely blew the Lite Panel away. And, to my eye, there was absolutely no different in the quality of the light or the color (both were daylight). It left the 12×12 owner a little wistful when we compared what we each paid for our kits.

I have wondered about this also. Just got thru documenting Irene for my company and noticed (as before) that when shooting in bright sun the blacks are really compressed. Is this a small imager issue? Am waiting for a sunny day to play with Gamma and Ped.

Beware of ground level spreaders if you do work outside and/or on uneven ground. Much easier to set and level sticks with a mid-level spreader.

Have you tried using the Panasonic P2 Manager software? It will read a “virtual card.” If this works, then you could export from the Blu-Ray to an attached hard drive or RAID and work from there.

Many thanks to all responders. I’ve been “hijacked” myself by work! OS is XP SP3. 32 bit. When I get some free time I will dig into this more. Again, thanks

Thanks. I have a nice Vinten that I will use for heavier jobs, such as teleprompter. I was looking for something lighter for field work and one of my regular vendors suggested the Libec.

I use 2 Primera Bravo Pros and 1 older Primera Signature IV. The Bravos are slicker and faster but the Signature keeps on ticking. I just the other day saw that Primera is making a large job accessory for the Bravo Pro that allows (I think) 350 DVDs duped and printed “unattended.” Tho anybody that does this knows that rarely can you walk away and get a large job finished with out some hand holding.
I have been very happy with Primera’s tech support, both on-line, on the phone and repair work.
