2016 marks 23 years in the industry. I have been fortunate to be part of post-production teams working on multimillion-dollar television magazine programming, and been able to not just know amazing talent, but work alongside talented people who have enriched my own knowledge and skills set as a post-production professional.
After 18 years of national and international work, I accepted a staff video editing position with the local CBS Affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia, editing for their afternoon and evening news programming content. Ten months into this position, I was asked to take over a vacant position as Media-Manager and Lead-Editor for the Special Projects division. This position gave me a much broader experience in media managing in the AVID Interplay environment. In late 2011, I had the good fortune to receive media management training from one of Avid Technology's top experts and senior media trainers, Richard Bentley.
Being part of the Special Projects division allowed me to edit for the top talent at CBS46, who are regularly recognized with Emmy and other broadcast awards. I am proud to say I had a hand in helping our team achieve many such honors. One such honor came in 2015 from a powerful story written and produced by reporter, Adam Murphy, and photographed by Dimitri Lotovsky. "Best Feature Story" was the honor granted by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.
The accomplishment I am most proud of during my recent years came on June 5th, 2015, when the National Press Photographers Association listed my name alongside their best video editors in North America, honoring me with "first-runner-up" in their coveted Best in Photojournalism: Editing "Video Editor of the Year" competition.
In 2016 I left CBS46 in Atlanta after receiving two small scholarships to study film post production and visual effects compositing at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, in New Mexico.
I am currently available and welcome all freelance opportunities.
