…not sure if this helps at all, BUT you can always upload the .mov file to your YouTube account, then download what you just uploaded as an .mp4 file from your YouTube Creator Studio (the download option is under the Edit dropdown next to your video in the list). Not sure about quality downgrades, but at the very least the video will be there along with the audio.
