Using the Place Command ( File>>place ) Should help with the text being converted to an image.
However, PDF files weren’t meant to be edited this way and the workarounds are always clunky at best.
You could also try opening the PDFs in Acrobat reader then click Tools on the menu bar>>Advanced Editing Tools>>click the Crop Tool option.
You should be able to crop out those marks. Hit save and be good to go.

Unfortunately there aren’t any available plug-ins to change the color of the marquee tool. However, you do have options to make this part of the process easier.
You could make a new layer, solid color, low opacity. In this way you can maintain contrast without editing the source image. Just make sure the proper layer is selected when trying to edit your marquee’d area.

March 12, 2015 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Can’t Find The Selection Tool When Video Editing In Adobe Photoshop CS6The select tool hotkey is W. For video, selecting sometimes means to move your timeline slider to the desired frame on your timeline, then click and drag that slider to start a selection. from there you have a host of options with right-click and other hotkeys.

March 12, 2015 at 5:02 pm in reply to: How to put background behind semi transparent imageThe process has several steps but it isn’t too difficult.
Quick Selection tool (w, second function)> Select background>> Either make a copy layer of your background to use as a screen for the image you want to place, I say this only because there is a gradient and you might want to retain that, If the gradient isn’t important to you>>> Delete background>>>> Place photo>> arrange layers so that the tin and ribbon layer are above the image.

March 12, 2015 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Need to alter aspect ratio of images in Photoshop but the crop tool does not do it??You could also go about it this way:
Open all documents to be edited with one additional blank document ( final) that is the size you need.
Crop your photos individually, make a save copy.
select the move (v) tool and drag your cropped photos to the blank image.
Arrange and save and you’re good to go.

Absolutely!
With the crop tool selected, at the options bar, there are inputs for height, width, resolution, and then a button marked ‘front image’. If you click that it will set your crop to be the size of the canvas upon cropping.
Hope that helps!

Not to worry, you’re not missing anything. .DNG files do not hold a full .JPEG preview within them.
All you need to do is open your .DNG and resize it in photoshop to the desired size and you shouldn’t have any loss in quality.

March 12, 2015 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Does anyone know how to achieve this photo effect ?There are a couple of effects and techniques used here. I’d say the most common, and easier to do, would be adjusting the hue/saturation of the image to make it more vibrant/change colors.
From the top go to Image>adjustments>hue/saturation and from there a slider should show up.

The issue could be that the programs that aren’t Photoshop are using a CMYK color-space instead of the RGB you’re using.

While having the Pen Tool selected, look at the top tool panel.
– Click on the “Align” icon (3rd from the left of the Auto Add/Delete check box)
– Check “Align to Canvas” (mine was defaulted to Align to Selection)
