This is really really kind of you. Please know that whilst I have been using this programme for a few years, my knowledge is still pretty basic – so I’m not sure what a PITA is!!! Many many thanks,

Thanks for you quick reply. Have tried your suggestions but to no avail (prob my fault). I r click on clip and go to video options/motion and the slide is already there. If I lost it – I lose the clip altogether on the timeline – there is just a white background. I have effect/distort .. but no transform on my version (6 so very old). If you are able to tell me where I am being stupid, I would be most grateful.

Can I add to this message. I have successfully gone into motion settings now, but want my clips to stay still! At the moment, I can only have them sliding across the screen. Can anyone help?? Thanks.
