Hi Noah,
I am planning to walk around the floor of the conference and trade show and do interviews. This is the primary reason I was trying to avoid bringing a lighting kit, so I can be mobile. I have access to KNO FLOs, and I can look into whether I might be able to set them up in some corner to conduct the interviews.
1. If not, how and where would you hang the china ball in relation to the DVX? Is there some portable battery type of way to power it without requiring it to be plugged in?
Thanks for your help!!!

Hi Noah,
The AVCHD camera is a Panasonic HDC-SD1 AVCHD.
https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-HDC-SD1-Definition-Camcorder-Stabilized/dp/B000LO92EK1. Guessing that you recommend the DVX over this AVCHD cam based on what you mentioned earlier?
2. Would you recommend mounting a light to the DVX? OR do I need some type of better lighting. I am trying to travel to the interviews with as little equipment as possible. Thanks!!!

Hi Ty,
I am thinking of going without using a mixer to keep the shoots simple. Will I be sacrificing much in terms of sound quality if I use either of those two mics? OR will I just be missing out mainly on the ability to use the low filters to cut out potential extraneous noise?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Ty,
1.) Why are you suggesting the B6 and not the E6? And, how would you hide it?
2.) Why are you not recommending the boom? Thanks!

Are there any issues with creating adhesive labels from a Brother label maker and affixing labels to any of the following:
– outer metal frame around a scrim
– an Arri light fixture
– the back of a Kino fixtureWill these melt or worse, potentially catch fire?

Thanks everyone for your help!

1.) Why “Shoot progressive Not interlaced?” I plan to do some green screen with 720p…just curious.
2.) Make sure you don’t get halos by making green to bright. Do you mean by lighting it too bright?
3.) How does the basic keyer in Final Cut Pro stand up to the other keyers you guys suggested?
Thanks.

Given the same type of lighting setup I described earlier, but instead using Kinos, would I also want to place gels several feet in front of the Kino fixtures, or is the light from the Kinos soft enough already and capable of bouncing off the reflector without the gels?

Hi Ty,
Yes, I will be setting up a camera and shooting myself.
Regarding being in frame, I am either going to use a field monitor connected to the camera pointed at me so I can see if I am in frame, or do some test video and find the ideal location and just place some tape on the ground so I always know where to stand.1.) How do you recommend I monitor the levels with headphones when testing it while simultaneously speaking into the earset mic? How do other single person crew/talents handle this?
2.) As soon as the audio levels are set and I am happy with them, is there any reason to need to check or change these levels again for future shoots assuming the camera will always be in the same location and I will as well?
Thanks for your help.
