Hmm. Most interesting: per-property posterized time!

    Dan,

The second version definitely looks like it would do it.

(Perhaps I’m not thinking straight, but per my logic “going both directions” would do exactly the same as a simple IF/ELSE flip above or below threshold value.)

Sounds like you are trying to do this using TWO different paths.

If you set two keyframes for just ONE path, AE will smoothly interpolate the path for all frames in between.

Yes, save the file as psd so that you can have layers.

The magic wand tool will select and area in a similar fashion as the paint bucket tool fills it.

You will want to create a new layer for each country in order to animate them separately in AE. Once you’ve selected a country with the magic wand tool, select Layer>new layer via cut, and your selected piece will be cut out of the current layer and be placed onto a new layer by itself. Then you will have to select the original layer from the Layers palette and repeat for every country.

Or “2.5D”, in which you cut out separate layers and give them a different depth.

Are you trying to flip a layer when a value is 1 or more and unflip it when it is less than 1? Then it would be a simple IF/ELSE.

One practical solution is to use the puppet tool rather than shapes.

Have you checked into 99designs.com? I’ve never used it myself, but sounds like it might work for your purposes.

    For 90 degrees:

    Math.abs(Math.abs(transform.rotation)%90-45)/45*100

    For 180 degrees:

    Math.abs(Math.abs(transform.rotation)%180-90)/90*100
