Its an mp4. H.264, AAC Codec 1:36:33 in length.
If i export it through quicktime and then use that file in premiere, everything is fine.

Nothing changes if i change the preview to 1/8 or cineform.

If i open my activity monitor to view my CPU usage and start the playback in premiere, it shows between 30-40% being used. I don’t know much in this regard so i don’t know what that means exactly. I also only have about a 3rd of my fusion drive full so i don’t think that a part of the issue.

THERE we go! Okay. So what does it do when I hold shift and parent?
I didn’t think that parenting it would do anything because I knew there were no keyframes in the texts position so it wouldn’t make the ai move.

My 3D was off, i switched it on and parented it to the text layer. Now it moves, but not with the text. Its all jittery and going all over the place.

Okay, well that doesn’t work. The text is in the proper position. Its moving as I want it to. I positioned the AI file where i want it to be in relation to the text, parented it to the text, RAM previewed, and it doesnt move at all from where I positioned it.

I tried that too. It won’t follow the same motion because the camera tracker doesn’t put in key frames for the texts position, so if I parent it, it won’t move.

Personally, I would import it as an AI, that way if you want to make any changes to it, you can do that in illustrator, and it will update it in AE. If you rasterize, you won’t have that option, or you’ll have to edit it in illustrator, then rasterize in photoshop before it will update in AE.
