You could try some local software dealers in your town. It’s the best I can think of!

I did a quick internet search before replying, and found one for 1.000 US Dollars (as in “not cheap”). Up to this day, it would be practically a miracle if you found an unopened copy or official download online.

I can think of two minor issues:

1.- When you handle your comp’s settings (by hitting cmd key + K with your comp selected), you can manually change the starting time value of your comp…

AND

2.- If you have several pre-comps, you might be just listening to a song that is already pre-composed inside one of them. So, when you play your master comp you get one reading, but this would create an overlap which you didn’t mention…

One final thing: I do remember having mp3 issues when using songs (and by issues I mean I almost shot myself several times). Have you tried converting your mp3 to aiff or wav? If I’m not wrong, this happened to me inside AE CS5 and FCP 7. Since then, I always use EVERY audio in aiff. You can convert your song inside iTunes…

Create a white solid layer (comp sized), then create a mask inside the solid (you can specifically apply any form…for a cirular shape just change to the elliptical marquee tool and double click it with the solid layer selected).

Finally, change the transfer mode to silhouette luminance. At this point I REALLY THINK you should change the mask mode to substract (it’s in add by default).

This process will give you a great result because you can always change your mask in the future, just by changing it’s form or animating it during the whole comp.

After reading you guys, and keeping the trial and error method, I finally went on to AE and right clicked on the video (inside the browser), and just re-interpreted the footage to 40fps inside After Effects! I am HONESTLY really sorry for asking such question with such a simple answer, hehehe…..hehe…..he…..he……

Also, I went to Compressor again and tried the thing by changing the duration and the final fps (into one of the standards), wich I kinda always knew from the start, but didn’t manage to quite understand that couldn’t be done; I thought I could just edit in 40fps and export into a standard fps… What I wanted specifically was to “conform” the source video into 40fps like Cinema Tools does (like just changing the media header from 60fps to 40fps). In the end, I even tried to manually change the headers with Atom Inspector, which rendered a great result.

I found a better solution with After Effects’ stock plug-ins and functions (frame blending went well, no noticeable warp) for this problem, but the twixtor knocked me out with the (watermarked) result! UNBELIAVABLE!
