Hi guys.
Just an idea. When I digitize in HDX and the checkboxes for the audio channels are checked but there’s no audio signal present, he yellow warning light will turn on and a gray screen is all you can see in the video input.
When you uncheck the audio boxes and turn the deck on and off the video signal will appear and you can digitize normally from there.
Hope this helps.

Floh,
Thank you very much for your very insightful answer.
The purpose of all this, besides increasing the M100i v8 performance, was to wait one more year before jumping into the HDe wagon.
Do you think that if I invest into HDe right now, later it will be compatible with the Universal version of the software and, with a newer workstation from Apple?
I wouldn’t want to be stuck with an obsolete cardset!
I’ve seen with interest and joy the resurgence of Media100 under Boris, but given the company’s recent history -i.e. Pegasus-844/X-, it would be very hard for me to get stuck with obsolete hardware/card architecture overnight.
Any additional thoughts please?

December 13, 2006 at 10:53 pm in reply to: Need Advice: I just erased one of my hard disks!Hi Floh,
I’m on a HDX, MacOS 10.4.8.
Yeah I know it’s nearly impossible! As I write this, I’m using FileSalvage from SubRosa Software to scan my disk and see if it can recover anything.
So far, it has scanned 5% of the 500GB disk and has found nothing. SubRosa’s website says there is a good chance of recovering some files with their long-names intact. So, I’m crossing my fingers and waiting for the best.
I’ll post later about how everything goes.
Thank for your support!

Hi,
if you are going to ‘author’ your DVD in another computer where you have access to a compression utility and a burner you don’t need that computer to be able to playyour video at full-res and full-speed.
You just encode and compress the video (with Compressor, BitVice or Cleaner) and then burn or author the dvd with your prefered application (Using Toast, DVD StudioPro, etc.)
I recommend you to export your video from Media100 as Animation/Lossless and then copying it to the computer that you will use for burning your DVD, I repeat it doesn’t matter if that machine can’t play your video without ‘stuttering’, you only need it to compress it and then burn it.
Hope this helps.

Floh,
thanks for your very fast answer.
I’ve already disconnected all the peripherals, and also unplugged the machine and plugged it again.
I’ll try checking my RAM modules.
Thanks a lot.
Juanjo.
