Thanks very much, we kind of figured it out, I selected the clip and went to tools> remove advanced pull down and it turned it into 23.98fps, the only problem is that it is still interlaced at times since it removed an advanced pull down cadence of 2-3-3-2 instead of the normal one of 2-3. at the moment I am trying to figure out how to do it in avid. but thank you very much for the quick responses.

ok, I have got p2 footage with the normal 2-3 pulldown, how do I remove this pulldown in avid? I am running avid xpress pro 5.75
