Thanks for your reply, the consolidate is another option I considered, and we also use a pair of lacie to speed things up, but I suppose there’s no better workflow to avoid the physical copy.

So I’ll be handling a 60,000 +

Thanks for your answer!. I think I’ll go for the Macbook pro and perhaps got a quad as soon as the price drop with the upcoming conroes.

Any ideas if the FW400 controller is shared with the usb/fw800?. I would like to use an external FW800 as a raid, and hope to get a IO ld (if compatible with universal), and I think a shared controller could hurt perfomance seriously, just like with th imac g5.
