Based on the original DVX100 to the 100a and now the 100b, the noise has been considerably better on each upgrade. Will this also be the case w/ the HVX or can noise be reduced w/ firmware updates?

    Question for you Jan:

I was at Res Fest and the image there was extremely clean with no noise issues. The rep there said it was a Rev. 2 camera. I go to DV Expo where there are Rev 4 cameras with considerable amounts of noise. Based on this, it tells me that a Rev via firmware update in the future can clean up this noise as was in the Revision 2 camera? Or is this false hope? Thanks for your honest answer.

walter, when i toggle through the hvx: 1080i, 720p, 480i, etc…the monitor automatically switches. is this what you’re talking about? also, when in 108024p or 720/24p, mode, i’m wondering if the monitor displays 24p(for example, 720/24p)? thanks again!

    walter, tony,

    according to this thread: https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?forumid=98&postid=803582

some of the later model pvm14L5 did support the 24p as long as the serial# started w/ 21 not 20. my serial# starts w/ 21 so i believe based on that thread that my monitor supports the upgraded feature. i’m just trying to figure out now how i can determine that. since you guys have the /1 version, let me know how i can tell on this 24p compatibility. thanks again!
