Could it be possible that they don’t even have a vague understanding of what they’re asking for, and they mean for you to import a .tga sequence, then output it in a video format?
Or could it be possible that they want a set of stills, from which they’ll create a slideshow, and then play it back with a sound track from a laptop? It is puzzling…

Of course, you’d have to provide the audio track as a separate file, synced to frame 0.

Steve has a good idea with the VLC player suggestion. Another thought would be Windows Media Player. It has a very robust playlist capability, and I use it for client meetings, especially when I want to sometimes skip through a long-form piece after playing it for a short time.

Thanks Todd – Although I grabbed a license of 8 early on, I have yet to use it. I tried it on a demo computer in a shop, and it just had too much of a Hello Kitty/My First OS look to it. I believe you can change the settings, but I am very pleased with Win 7, and will probably take that route.

There are a couple of approaches you could take. One would be to take the “master” image with the black bars, duplicate it, and make it Guide Layer (Layers/Guide Layers). Then use that as your guide.
You could also use your master image to put Guides on the page, then use masks to cut multiple copies where the bars are. I think that working in a single comp will keep things simpler, but I do think your thoughts were on the right track.

If the Work Area Bar really bothers you, you have the option to turn it off in CS6, and there are shortcut keys to set the in and out points (CTRL-[, and CTRL-]). Other than these features, I don’t know of any others which control the WAB.

I have no problem at all embedding Metadata in .mp4 files. I’m able to look up the AE project my clip was created in, add keywords, as well as add my copyright metadata from a template created in Bridge. Have you tried adding Metadata to a .mp4 file? If it hasn’t worked for you, try right-clicking the clip in Bridge, and choosing “Purge Cache for Selection” – this usually brings back the capability. You can also do this for multiple selected files. Maybe it depends on the flavor of .mp4, and the fact that the MP4 is a container, and can have a number of audio, video, or subtitle streams inside. Just guessing…

The plot thickens – I just noticed that my install of Bridge plays back .flv videos just fine, but not .mp4. I’ll test some other formats as well…
