I think the Puppet Tool would be worth trying out:

I would suggest you take a look at Sure Target 2, a free plugin from VideoCopilot:
https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/sure_target_2/
It will take a while to wrap your head around it by watching the tutorials, but it should make your life a whole lot easier.

Hi Samya –
As you’ve painfully found out, expressions aren’t something you just jump in and start playing with. Because they are so powerful, you have to learn the structure first. While it’s not difficult to pick up, the right resource will move you along quickly:
https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/expression-basics.html
At the top of the above help file, there are also some great links to learning resources which will move you to the intermediate stage. I would suggest working down the first page of the help, which will get you a basic grounding, then moving on to whatever level you wish. Good luck with it.
Here’s another good link with some examples to pick apart, in case you work well by reverse engineering things:

Apparently it’s not free anymore.

It doesn’t seem to be quite as straightforward as stated – you may still have problems with the import, as discussed on this page:
https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/topic/62946-importing-objects-into-c4d-with-textures/
I’m a 3DS Max user, and especially with free models, you’ll often find problems with getting the materials to import right. Some models will, some won’t. Most of the free 3D model sites state that their models are “as is”, no tech support, good luck to you.
Here’s a search which will find many of the free sites:

I don’t know anything about the Boris effects, but I’d assume it’s the same problem as the Red Giant ones – RG plugins have always had a problem installing anywhere but the C: drive, but you can move the files to whatever drive you need them on. It’s a pain, but it works:
https://www.redgiant.com/company/contact-us/support/faq/225/
Here’s some more troubleshooting:
https://www.redgiant.com/company/contact-us/support/faq/178/
Since you don’t say what OS you’re using, you’ll have to track down the correct file paths on the RG pages.

As Gary says, “No”. However, if you take a look on this Wikipedia article, in paragraph four you will find that it is possible to create a lossless, or partially lossless H.264 clip, but my guess is that it would create a much larger file size, negating the main advantage of H.264, high compression and high quality:

Try looking on Turbosquid.com. They have free stuff as well as paid. You’re going to find that most of the models you find for free will not load with a material library (unless they’re native C4D format – even then it can be a crapshoot), so you will have to re-texture them.

I would agree that Turbulent Displacement with a very small Size is the way to go.
