Are you running Mac OS or Windows? From what I know, DVCPRO HD is a Mac proprietary format included with FCP Studio 2, so if you’re rendering from a PC or an older version of FCP, you’re stuck with whatever HD formats your system has installed. I’m assuming though that you’re on a Mac since I’ve never come across DVC anything whilst exporting in the PC world. In whichever case, if it’s not installed, you’ve got to find another format. The Avid DnxHD codec is pretty good and should be roughly comparable in file size, though I’ve had problems with alpha channels when rendering from non-Avid apps.

I’ve had the same problem, though with .aif files mostly. Another work around, rather than recapturing material, is to import the problem files into FCP and re-export them to the same format and file name using the export queue. Once you do that, everything should reconnect via the relative path.
