    Quick Update – 03.21.08

I was able to take dvcproHD 720p60 footage @ 23.98 and bring it into a FCP dvcproHD 720p23.98 sequence and have it upconvert to 1080psf23.98 using a Kona3 and lay that back on to the Sony HDCAM-SR 5500 deck. Problem is, the combination of settings/drivers in FCP causes inconsistent frame delays on the tape. So sometimes the show lands dead on or sometimes early or late a frame or two. I was finally able to lay it off correctly after 2 or 3 attempts.

Has anyone had this issue working with dvcproHD media going to HDCAM-SR?

    Here are my settings:

    FCP:

    footage- 1 hour DVCPRO-HD 720p60 fps 23.98
easy setup – AJA KONA 3 – 720p59.94 DVCPRO HD
machine control – 23.98 SONY VTR A, is this the right setting?
(defaults to panasonic, I added 8 channels of audio to this preset)

    KONA CONTROL PANEL:
    format – native, 720p23.98
    secondary, 1080sf23.98

    digital out – both secondary

ANY help or insight into this is much appreaciated.

The file specs in Quicktime… DVCPRO HD 720p60 fps 23.98

I brought up a 720p23.98 timeline and with the Kona3 control panel I am able to crossconvert on the fly with no rendering. Thanks!
