Strange that Blackmagic havn’t fixed this. They usually very fast to fix issues and they often update drives. This must me a hard nut to crack for them. I’ve been forced to work with projects in 1080 to avoid this bug.

I’ve now confirmed that it’s just an issue with Text-plugs. All of them. Final Cut’s own and third party. Lower Third, text, Scroll, etc, – all of them. Only Text things. And it’s for sure only DVCproHD 720p.

Same issue here. FCP crashes in seconds. If I move out the Blackmagic Codec.component (the plug) from QT plug folder and restart FCP everything is fine. I can also leave the plug and run with Cinema Display All Frames – but if I chose Blackmagic 720p (havnt yeat tryed other resolutions – will do) FCP crashes emidiately I do something..like chosing a filter etc.
The scarry thing is that this issue suddenly started yeasterday and I have not installed ANYTHING! It worked two days ago – with 720p. And it have been working like a clock for month. And suddenly….maybe it was a proapp update from Apple…maybe it was just before the issue turned up? I cant remember exactly.
Please Black Magic – look at this! I’ve mailed you the crash code. Take a look at it.
