    Thanks shane.
Is there a “right way” bring the footage into streamclip? I mean, should I first Log and transfer to FCP and then send to streamclip, or can I just transfer the clips from the Memory card to streamclip?

Once I have all the clips transcoded to Prores ready to edit in FCP, I will have 2 different clip sizes:1280×720 and 1440×1080 (i think). So, what is best: to set up the sequence settings as 1280×720 and shrink the 1440×1080 or to setup the sequence to 1440×1080 and blow up the 1280×720?

    Thank you

    Thank you Shane.
    I like the Ninja!
Silly question: Can I capture live footage using the Firewire 800 output of the Sony Z7 to my Macpro? I guess that if that was possible, you would have told me already, and I’m not at work to try it.

    Thanks alot guys

    Thanks Michael, I’ll try that.

Steve, I wish I had 27 cameras to choose from or 27 million dollars to buy what ever camera you suggest me. Unfortunately I got what I got and have to make to most of it. Thanks anyway.

    Thanks Dave

Sony Z7 has HDMI out, and Canon 7D (which i only got today) has a mini HDMI out connector, but I think its only for tv viewing, correct?

I think what I’m looking for is an alternative to “Adobe onlocation”

    Thanks

    Michael, thanks for your help.
just reading other posts in the forum and I was thinking that the video that i posted above was edited on the same timeline, mixing interlace and progressive clips. I didn’t do any de-interlace or nothing. Could that be the problem?

    thanks

I’m afraid I can not give you a straight answer. Some projects are for web, others for DVD and others for both.

    is the following correct?
If its a video for web only i should shot progressive.
If its for dvd only, I should shot interlace.
What would you do if its a video that will go on web and DVD?

What i’m looking for is smooth pans, I normally shot at 50 shutter speed. Sometimes I may slow them down.
How do you do slowmotion on FCP without frame blending?

    Thanks again Michael.
