Just to let you know, I AM a broadcasting major. I am much more involved in television than radio, but I had my stint there, too.
I think that you need to expand your perspective on schooling. To me, it seems that you are thinking of a technical school or one that only teaches broadcasting. If you are only considering those types of educational establishments, you are doing yourself a disservice.
My university is a liberal arts university which means that, although I do (did, since it’s my last semester) get a good smattering of history and other areas of study, it has opened up doors to other areas I would not have investigated otherwise (film, for example).
Take a look around at local colleges and universities and see the programs they have. Distance might be an influencing factor for you. I chose to go to a university that is about 12 hours from home (back in NJ) because I felt it was the best opportunity for me to learn.
Choose your place of learning based on how it will benefit you for now and the future. Also look at how it can afford you opportunities that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Never stop learning and try every position – even if you don’t think you’ll be doing it for a career.

80Hz is where a lot of the rumble and stage noise tends to be at; a high-pass (aka low cut) filter would not make a system sound tinny NOR would it make it more prone to feedback, especially at higher frequencies.
If I were a betting man – and I’m not – I would say that your main feedback problems are between 1kHz and 6kHz. High-mid frequency feedback (1kHz to 8kHz-ish) sounds like somebody stuck a pig with a pitchfork (squealing). High frequency feedback (8kHz-ish to 20kHz) sounds more like a television is on.
What is the system processor? It sounds like it’s a dbx Driverack that someone used the AutoRTA* function on. Since it’s an RTA, it is time-blind and can only identify differing amplitudes of frequencies; it cannot tell you whether “x” frequency is due to comb filtering, a reflection, etc.
* – WARNING: NEVER use that feature; your ears are much better judges.

Usually, guitar speakers are full range, in that they are made and expected to reproduce the entire frequency range of whatever is coming to it from the amplifier. A loudspeaker, on the other hand, usually is only meant to handle a certain bandwidth. A 3-way cabinet would have three different drivers (loudspeakers); the [sub]woofer (debatable terminology) would handle 50Hz-120Hz, the woofer would handle 110Hz-4.5kHz, and the high frequency driver would handle 4kHz-18kHz. That’s all theoretical and not necessarily based in fact, mind you, but I think it gives you an idea of the differences.

Since you haven’t told us where you are feeding the camera from (Aux Send, RCA Outputs, etc.) we can only speculate.
At first glance, it seems to me that you are probably feeding the camera with too hot of an output. Consumer devices typically expect a lower voltage than professional products.
If your camera is expecting a low-level signal (such as microphone level) and you feed it a high-level signal (such as line level from an Aux output), you will overload the input, causing distortion (up to and including clipping the signal).
My #1 suggestion: read the manual and find out what the camera is expecting to get, audio-signal-wise, and then get back to us.
#2: Buy an inline pad (this one from Shure should work fine) to put in-between the mixer and the camcorder. You should confirm how much of a pad you would need BEFORE ordering; too much can be a bad thing.

Try and get a job shadow with a dj for a month…see how you like it (or don’t). There’s a lot to any job that goes unnoticed and doesn’t get talked about much.
