Pretty sure this is an overheating issue – either with the card or the sensor.

I’m not quite sure about your Matrox problem (don’t use Matrox hardware integration that often.)

However, for your flicker question…what were your capture settings? Frame rate, shutter speed, ISO, etc?

  • That is correct (in response to your magic lantern install question)

Just make sure to remember, when in doubt, remove the battery and reboot, during the install process. The files should be unzipped to your card and left there for continued ML use.

Have you considered using Adobe Premier CS6?

It has the capability and the robust power needed to edit raw AVCHD and does so rather well. Here at RIT, many students swear by the GHpoo (much to my dismay, but that is a different) and editing the footage in Premier has always been a breeze.

As for hacks, Powell’s FlowMotion is pretty solid, big fan.

    Hope this helps!

This is a really neat concept! As an imaging science student, I can see a lot of scenarios where this would be useful. Your rig is phenomenal, very interesting watch 🙂

You can use CC Pixel Polly combined with an Andrew Kramer plugin if I’m not mistaken. I don’t have his plugin or script available anymore but I do know that he still hosts the repository on his site!

    Hope this helps!

  • I would prize CPU power and your disk speed above all else. These two factors are the most critical in power rendering with After Effects or Premiere
