I put it in VCR mode: the same thing happens….

I’ve captured video before on other cameras, but this is my first time with HDV. ~

I went to page 109, corrected all of the settings, but I’m still having the same problems. If I have the camera on HDV playback when I connect it, it says it found new hardware and that it can’t find the software to install it. If I ignore this, and I go into Premiere Pro 2.0 and attempt to capture, it says device offline, and it won’t let me control the camera at all through Premiere.

When I have the camera in DV playback, when I connect the camera it recognizes it fine. However, when I go into Premiere Pro 2.0, and try to capture, it says device offline, but it will let me rewind, play, and fastfoward with the premiere controls. It just won’t let me record.

I’ve looked at the manual, adjusted the settings, I’ve downloaded the Canon Presets on the Adobe site, and I even downloaded a trial version of Cineform Aspect HD. I’m still having the same troubles. Can anyone help?

  • Turns out I needed to select ‘Make a PDF copy’ or something like that to make the layers show up — Thanks everybody for their help! 🙂

  • I searched through the boards, but didn’t really come up with anything. Do you recall who may have started the thread, or what it may have been titled? I tried a few different options, and came up with nothing.

I tried what you said, but it didn’t really make a difference. I may not have done it correctly though – I’m a newbie at Illustrator, but I know After Effects pretty well — so its kinda frustraiting. Thank you for your help though, I really appreciate it!!

What do you mean by rendering with fields on? How do I do this? 🙂
    Thank you for your help!

Here is a larger version as well — I know you might think that it is simply the compression I’m using when exporting, but it looks like this in my preview window as well when I RAM preview.

I was aware of the little button that switches between best and draft, but I wasn’t aware of the OpenGL stuff. I went into preferences and changed it to Adaptive Resolution, but nothing happened. The text is still jagged. I have a Geforce 7800 GT – I’m not sure if that makes a difference. I set it to OpenGL again, to see if anything happened, and nothing did.

    Is there another solution?

I’ve uploaded an example of my problem – but its kind of hard to see because I had to make the resolution small so you could download it easily. If you look at the top of the ‘O’ and pretty much the top and bottom of every letter, you can see where it gets jagged and seems to move around a little bit when it scales.
