Good to know, Serge!
Do you use often Photoshop paths rather than Illustrator?

Thanks for sharing, John.
Those of us with ProAnimator will recognize the complex text move. Those using Invigorator AE are going to be very, very impressed. Moves that had been impossible inside of After Effects will now be easy!
Very cool!

Hi Tim,
The basic problem is that the paths you’re exporting are not quite right and unless I’m missing something, it’s a limitation of Photoshop’s path export functions.
Essentially letters with holes in them, like O,R,P,B, etc need to be turned into compound paths. It’s a one-command fix in Illustrator, but I’m not aware of a way to do it in Photoshop. Invigorator probably sees your two circle shapes as two separate objects.
The best solution is always to get and use Illustrator. Photoshop’s path export commands will be very limiting with Invigorator.
Does this help?

You’re welcome.
Aurora Water is another option.

HI Michael,
Psunami is the water simulator of choice for After Effects (www.digitalanarchy.com). The water is very realistic, primarily for large-scale water. You can fake the reflections of objects above the surface by mapping an inverted copy of the object on the water’s surface and adjusting transparency.
I’ve done an animation where my Invigorator logo appears to come from the depths of the water and break the surface of the water, before rising above it. The process was fairly involved, but it turned out well.
There are other techniques for making small-scale water, caustics and the like. You’ll find at least one tutorial for that here on the COW.
Does this help?

Hi Jonathan,
While I don’t know of any on-line materials libraries available for download, it’s really not hard to start building your own.
It helps to examine materials in the current library and study the parts involved, whether they’re transarency maps, bump maps or reflection maps. Use Photoshop to open some of the default images. You can easily make modifications and create your own materials from there.
Also, it helps to create a library of textures from which to build new materials. I know Newtek has a nice collection intended for Lightwave users, but they’re useful to just about anyone who does 3D modeling. You can find other free texture collections on the web as well.
Hope this helps.

No need to apologize for suggesting Glintwerks.
It’s absolutely the best at what it does, just as Invigorator is the best at what it does. And just as 3D Flag has no equal for what it does. Gee, I notice a pattern there.

Hi Eddee2,
What specifically about creating the ribbon is giving you trouble?

What are your render settings?
Specifically are you using a codec that includes an alpha channel?
Animation+ does.
