Donovan,
From what I’ve read, only Sketchup Pro can export 3d models which Invigorator, ProAnimator and other applications can read. The free version does not have this export capability.

Hi Bill,
I’ve dealt with this before with a project in which a series of children’s blocks roll onto the screen to spell out a word. You have a couple of choices –
1. Assign objects which are not close together to the same set and hope the randomness of the other objects hides the fact that the movement is not all independent. This is what I did with my block project and it worked fine.
2. use two instances of Invigorator, so you have more available sets. The drawback is that the objects from one instance may not look like they’re interacting correctly with objects from the other instance. Ig will get tricky as the objects pass eachother in Z space.
Does this help?

Mario,
Yes. You can assign different materials to the front face, the back face and the edges/bevels. You can even split the edges and bevels to allow multiple materials.
Look for the material set-up window. (the little button on the top of the application. You’ll see a cross-section representing the selected object and a bunch of bins, which you can fill with different materials. It’s essentially paint by numbers.

Hi Eric,
There’s comparison information on http://www.zaxwerks.com. Two huge differences: ProAnimator works as a stand-alone without After Effects as a host. Motion controls for ProAnimator and Invigorator are also very, very different. Both have advantages for different kinds of projects. The aps share similar modeling and texturing abilities.
If I were you, I would do a couple of things – take a look at the website. Download the demos and play.
If you have specific uses in mind, we can make a more definite recommendation.

Glad it worked out. Care to share your work? We’d love to see.

Hi Suzzie,
I don’t have CS3 yet, but did manage to locate a tutorial for it on how to make animated GIFs:

I don’t think so – at least yet. It looks like AotoCad can read them – don’t know about exporting. Polytrans might at some point.
From Google’s own information: “Many applications display KML, including Google Earth, Google Maps, Google Maps for mobile, NASA WorldWind, ESRI ArcGIS Explorer, Adobe PhotoShop, AutoCAD, and Yahoo! Pipes.”
More info: https://code.google.com/apis/kml/documentation/
A nice blog here:

Hope this helps.

Hi suzzie,
You’re right – you’ll need to output a movie with an alpha channel and use another app to convert that to the animated gif you’re looking for.
I would suggest animating the original movie at the frame rate you want and doing it non-interlaced.
As you probably know, you can open your movie with ImageReady and convert it to an animated gif.
