Businesses/Institutions that can use cinematic videos for website, internal, or Tv promotion. I have a background in film production. You can check out some of my work: https://www.thefactoryfilm.com. Most of my work has ended up being commercials, corporate instructional videos, or explainer videos. Can also do documentary style ‘brand’ videos.

Thanks guys, I was just trying to remember. Most clients can’t comprehend the post process and are flabbergasted that it takes “so” long. Greg, I am doing better, I really appreciate the kind words. I was thinking for a very polished 30 second commercial, with music, sound design, and color grading, some graphics, the whole works… This was helpful, I’ll just have to get my next project going and estimate from there for future ones. Any advice or shotcuts on getting new clients? I have a website, cards, references, etc… Going after former clients and cold calls. Thanks for all the advice!

Thanks Greg I was just trying to remember what a rule of thumb was. I’m coming out a very serious illness that has pulled me out of the business for over a year. So my memory is kind of fuzzy. But it seemed like perviously 1 day of full production took about 5 days of full on post to get it completed as I recall. Anyone one else concur with this rule of thumb thanks?

Thank you, Sir for all your comments. I had a great talk with Dewolfe – they seem to be MUCH more reasonable then many of the other big guys out there. 😉

Thanks both you guys! Mark Suszko with Sonicfire Pro, you still have the buy songs composed by the company that can then be adjusted to your liking using the Sonicfire Pro software, correct? Or did you buy a whole library with the Sonicfire Pro software? I have found the music selections, and digging through their options a bit cumbersome, but I have used it in the past.

And grinner hester. I will be looking into both mentioned options.

    Thanks again.

Thanks everyone very helpful advice! And thanks for sharing Nick. I too was looking into Killer Tracks because they were recommended to me. Similarly, I also am working with smaller clients that all want their videos on their websites but are not interested at all to pay the Killer Tracks prices – even if they are slightly better.
