That’s what I feared. Looks like I’ll have to start from scratch and get all the blu-rays together again. I thought I could avoid that but it’s better to take the time and get it right. Luckily, each blu-ray is only about 20 minutes long so it could be worse.

“…and I have to ask… why are you converting .wmv files to .wmv files? None of this makes any sense.”

This isn’t that difficult. I have a collection of videos recorded by my family and me that were on Blu-Ray. I copied them all to my hard drive in mkv BEFORE I knew that Vegas couldn’t edit mkv. Since I don’t have all of the Blurays still at home, I just converted them to .wmv so I could EDIT them in Vegas to create a montage video.

If they’re my Blu-Rays, it’s not illegal, is it? I’m making a montage of videos from some of my personal Blu-Ray discs.

Ah, sorry. The source videos are all .wmv taken from Blu-Rays. 720p, I think. I had to convert them from .mkv to .wmv since Vegas 8 won’t work with .mkv.

My render settings are Windows Media Video V9, 6 mbps HD 720-30p. Should I step it down to 5 mbps 720-25p instead? Would that cut down in the interlacing issues I’m seeing?

Ah, yes I wasn’t using the trimmer. Basically I was opening a new project every time I needed a clip and then cutting each scene down to what I needed. then I would import that clip to my main project.

I figured I was doing it all inefficiently. Looks like I have a lot of work in front of me now, going back and redoing this entire thing.

So does Vegas 10 64-bit run that much better?
