the issue at this point only appears to be one rMBP? Am I missing something or is this a widespread occurrence beyond this thread?

Retina MBP here running perfectly with a Promise Pegasus. I’m sure everything will work fine once they’ve returned your laptop.

Shame that they didn’t replace it there and then.

The internal SSD is indeed super fast. The following BlackMagic Speed Tests done on a top of the line Retina MBP:

    Internal drive speed test:

    Write: 433.8 MB/s
    Read: 447.0 MB/s

    Promise Pegasus Raid-5 Via Thunderbolt:

    Write: 603.1 MB/s
    Read: 541.2 MB/s

Looking forward to the speeds we’ll be getting with an all SSD Raid connected via Thunderbolt.

It’s 3 layers of the same shot stacked on top of each other and re-positioned: one moving left from its original origin, the other moving right, the original staying center frame. As it’s shot against black, there’s no issue with keying out the background.

“way faster than my 2008/9 Mac Pros” is what I’ve been waiting to hear! great to have it confirmed.

i imagine it’s going to be even tougher adapting to that display when it’s sitting next to an external Apple Cinema Display.

    Hey Ben,

Thanks for these screenshots – very helpful!

Out of curiosity, what CPU and RAM are you running with this? How’s the performance of FCP X?

    Jon.
