This is from a few months ago but I want to thank you for the additional info regarding .NET Framework. Yes, it is something MAGIX should tell their customers.

Hi Marc,

Since it was a few months ago I find it hard to remember. However, I believe it involves clicking and holding the preview tab (not a button but a tab) at the bottom left of preview window and then drag down directly. Trying to move it in another direction will not work. One downward motion should do it. All I can remember specifically is that undocking the window/panel is different than in previous versions of Vegas, such as Vegas 13.

Thanks again, Graham. My bios and everything start up on the monitor on the “left” which is my main monitor. And remember, I still have Vegas 13 on my computer and it still works fine with the second monitor (which is placed on the right). I just checked it again. But with Vegas 15 — no. However, with Vegas 15 I am quite satisfied with simply dragging the preview window over to my second monitor and enlarging it and using it there (I never really looked at the preview window on the main monitor, anyway — I looked only at my second monitor when checking the footage or editing it — that’s the way I work).

Since I am swamped with other work and I am satisfied with my “work around,” I think I will leave it at that. But thank you very much for your time and I will post here if I ever find a solution to the problem.

Well, thanks for not giving up. So far just having the preview monitor dragged over to the other monitor is working well. But I checked and I have Version 4.0

Hi Graham, and thanks so much for replying. Please excuse the quality of the image I show you here — a quick snap with my cell phone has a lot of moire (just ignore the moire), but it shows you very clearly what I see — and what I do not see.

As you can see I do not even have the option of choosing from various devices — that part of the window is simply blank.

I found a much older post…I think dated from 2013, from a gentleman who had the exact same problem. He even posted an image identical to what you see. Someone chatted with him about it but the thread simply ended and no final solution was posted.

Well, as a “temporary” fix, I undocked my preview window and dragged it over to the second monitor, and enlarged it so that it “mostly” fills the screen. It seems to work okay…..however, if anyone can figure out the problem as I stated it in my first post, I would be very appreciative. Thanks.
