Still working in Final Cut Pro 7 – After you have rendered your 1920 x 1080 sequence go to FILE / SHARE and select Blu-ray as your export, but make sure to check the box for “Create Blu-ray disc”. An option window will open where you can select your DVD or Blu-ray burner. Here you can burn a Blu-ray compatible DVD (be it that it will be limited by the space on the DVD) It took less than 8 minutes to burn a 3 min music video.

Note: This Blu-ray compatible DVD will NOT play in your DVD player, it will ONLY play in a Blu-ray player. The advantage here is that Blu-ray media is still quite expensive and it doesn’t make sense to burn a 25GB disc with a Gig or two of material.
