I resolved my issue by selecting i. Link CONV ( option under p menu )
and turned it off ..
Some how it had been switched to
” on HDV->DV ”
And was trying to DOWN convert my footage !
Of course it took all day of looking through the setting to narrow it down to that thru trial and error.

Thank for lending a hand and your suggestions..
Perhaps this thread will help some one else in the future..

But no.
Its shot in HD and I pick the HDV or SDI option not DV ( as I have a million times before with no problem) capture in vegas.

As a side note today I imported the footage using windows photo gallery thingy.
the captured footage imports in vegas normally ..

So wtf ?
I’m so confused as to why it would just start doing this.

A side side note…

This is only happening on my laptop ..
It captures on my desktop using sony 9.0 just fine.
As mentioned before I have ( as recently as the day before this post )
was capturing things just fine using the lap top camera and cable ….

Please anyone … thoughts ?
