John Schwally has worked on dozens of PBS and cable documentaries throughout his career garnering numerous awards, including multiple national Emmy and CINE Awards.

Currently, he is editing the feature documentary "Big Fish Blues" for the award-winning Snowflake Video Productions. His skills as a producer and storyteller were most recently on display while producing feature stories for the FiOS1 newsmagazine "Push Pause Long Island". Among his prior works are "Secrets of the Eel" for PBS/Nature, "Backyard Oil" for Discovery, "Sports Illustrated" on NBC, “Deadly Sins” for Investigation Discovery network, seasons 2 & 3 of A&E's hit crime series "Steven Seagal: Lawman", 3 documentaries for the National Geographic Channel series "Naked Science", and the independent documentary "FDR's Secret Air Force". Additional credits include the limited series "RoboCars" for Science Channel; "Frontline: Muslims", "Nature", "Innovation", "Religion & Ethics Newsweekly", and "Knife to the Heart" for WNET/PBS; "Battles B.C." for History; and "Beating the Odds" for Discovery Health.

Schwally was instrumental in establishing the New York presence for the Producers Guild of America, becoming a founding Co-Chair of the PGA East. He is a past Co-Chair of the PGA East Documentary Committee and the PGA Mentoring Committee. In addition, he is an Adjunct Instructor for Communication Arts at the New York Institute of Technology's Manhattan campus.
