I know each compression will look different in many ways, like the amount of noise, interlacing, etc. I am just trying to figure out why there is this gamma issue. It’s really a very simple question. I have done some reading about the gamma issue, and it might be related to the Quicktime. I’ll try a H264 right out of FCP using the share feature. I’ll let you know how that compares. By the way, the Adobe compressed BD looks more like the original.

Thank you for all of the info. I totally understand the monitor issue. I’m not looking at it through a computer monitor and I’m not talking about the editing process and checking it through my scopes, etc. I am just talking about taking the same Quicktime file, compressing it on the mac and the pc, and comparing the two Blurays using the same Bluray player and the same broadcast HD monitor. Why does the mac version have more chroma and more contrast than the pc version?
