If the soundtrack is encoded as Dolby Digital, then you must have a plug-in for Windows Media Player that will enable it to play audio from DVDs with AC3 sound. WinDVD and PowerDVD are much better PC based DVD playback choices than WMP.

  • Yes,

You can set chapters at time based intervals, evenly space a set number of chapters, & manually set chapters. I use a script that exports a keyframe file from Sony Vegas that will piut chapters at Marker points set in Vegas.

The key is to zero pad your filenames. I use two tools depending on the job.

    1) Adobe Bridge – comes with Photoshop and Suites. Lots of options to build filenames and append or prepend zero padded sequential numbers

    2) Bulk Rename Utility from https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk – Tons of options to tweak filenames. Can trim specified characters, prepend, append, generate random sequences, etc.

  • Laura,

Try TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 from Pegasys.

    https://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/taw4_feature.html

We use it almost every day. You can import from existing DVD’s, video files, etc.; cut edit; add menus; output to folder; and burn discs.

Hands down the most feature rich, yet easy to use DVD Authoring software I have ever used. $99.95.

    John
