Hmm, no there are basically 3 animated layers in each comp (text in this case), im also using particle playground to blow the text to dust. The comps are the same apart from the text. They both work fine on this level, Soon as i precomp and add them both to a new single comp the problems occur.

    strange huh?

Oh and for an incremental chronological learning curve to software i prefer to run throught the http://www.lynda.com tutorials as they follow a path which gradually introduces you to the software and how and why it does what it does. Rather than just having random tutorials.

    cheers

For smaller projects, and if you have a good enough computer, well a lot of RAM actually, feel free to use the space bar (its a good habit to get into throughout compositing) and yeah i can usually get it to playback in realtime. What i would say is always SAVE your work. I use incremental project saves so i can revert to a given time if necessary.

    more important, have fun.

    cheers

Hi there, basically to use a key colour, what you are in effect doing is selecting a colour from the entire colour range and replacing it with no colour information, leaving it transparent. So, every occurance of that colour (or range of colours if you like) will be replaced. This can be done with luma values of colour values.

Here is a good tutoial that explains the concept better than i ever could.

    Hope this helps

This is for after effects, but like i said i think you may struggle to key out white, unless its a simple black and white animation.

Well you can key out the white, but you may lose some of the movie. depending on what technique you use. Apart from that i dont think there is any quick way doing this, need to think about this at video production time.
