Thanks. I’ve done that, along with trashing preferences. No luck on either so far. Re started computer as well. Still comes in as two frames. Other suggestions?

Thanks. I’ll try to back everything up prior to the switch.

After I noticed it I looked very closely at the ball and head to see if there was movement with the pan locked. That’s when I found it was moving between the ball and head somehow. I thought I could adjust it out but guess not. Still haven’t had time to put a wrench on that large nut to see if that helps. Thanks for all the suggestions. Don’t have another set of leg other than the wobbly ones holding me up.

Thanks Steve for the quick reply. So other than holding the handle for deer life, which can be for a long time, is the only solution??? Thoughts on what causes it, other than cheap construction?

Nick, Mark, Great ideas and my wheels definitely needed your ‘WD-40’ input to get them spinning. Thanks!

Haven’t had the ‘clams’ to upgrade to HD yet and hope that won’t be a big hurdle. Another hurdle is overcoming sea sickness and claustrophobia but that just takes time.

Funny you mentioned the Buccaneer. Since I arrived and had to eat I took a job at one of Elizabeth’s properties; Gallows Bay Hardware. While there I’ve been trying to convince her of upgrading her videos and offering marketing suggestions. So far, no response.

Thanks again. I’ll keep you posted.

On the G5 I run FCP2 with OS 10.5. On the MBP I have Leopard with the same FCP version, if that helps.

Don’t ask me why or how but this time I got the G5 to boot, plugged the camera into it, ran the external into the G5, and, wa-la; video is now capturing (fingers crossed). Nothing I tried using the MBP seemed to work. Still would like to know if it’s a ‘here’ problem or a ‘there (apple)’ problem. Also wondering if there is some kind of patch.

Thanks. The drive is a year old and, yes I just tried the uncontrollable part which also didn’t work. Preference trash is next…

I’ve captured tons of tape with my ‘original’ G5 using the camera and a 400 cable. Tried the daisy chain and using just one drive with the same error. Only port on the MBP is an 800.

Thanks Neal, Don’t have a cable that converts 800 to 400. Using an iomega external that has both which is why I’m using that. Will try using the non-controllable aspect.
