My recomendation for remote turn on and off is to use the LANC connector and extend a wire to a Lanc control switch(es) in your control room. It allows you to zoom, and shut the camera on and off.

I don’t use the export function.
I just copy the files from the memory unit to a folder on my computer. Then open vegas and import all the files in the folder. Then drag them into the timeline.
I have not had audio sync problems within the files.
I am having audio sync problems with independently recorded audio syncing with the audio from the camera. After 3 hours they are off about 1/4 second.
Your footer says you are using Vegas, why the question about CS4?

It may have to do with the audio format.
NXCAM can record in PCM or in AC3. What ever you recorded in, Premiere may think that it is the opposite.

I assume you checked the simple things, like playing the clip in media player and your speakers are playing properly.
There have been couple of times when I have not had sound and it took a while to find it.
1. I had an audio track (with no audio) solo button pushed, which gave no sound during preview and after render.
2. For some reason, unknown to me, my project audio setting went to 44 khz, and of course I was using 48 khz audio from my video. In this case, it played in preview, but would render with no sound.
3. The switch in the particular event was set to mute.

This is one of the best parts of the NXcam. You can dual record
You buy the FM128 memory module for your camera.
You buy class 6 or 10 SD cards for your customer.
You set up the camera to record to both. After the shoot, you hand the sd media to the customer and head home yourself. Between you and your client you decide whether they supply the blank sd card, or you supply it.
Regarding backing up, I have configured a Raid system which I use to archive files, not just the raw footage files, but the entire project.

1. I tried the control drag, but it seemed like it moved it rather than drag stretch it. I began to question whether the control drag would work for audio. You make it sound like it should.
I will repeat with the marker like you talked about so I can see if I can be more precise in the test.
2. What I have been doing is the second suggestion, syncing it up after every single number, this is not something I want to repeat.

I am using Vegas 10 and even though the timeline will take AVC in natively, it is too slow to edit with. So I transcode before I use it anyway.

Before you start, you need to know that Vegas 10 drops network rendering.
Sony has an upgrade price of something like $130 until end of November. What I did was bought two upgrades at $130 and put one my server. Then remote log in to the server and run it like I used to run network rendering.
If you want to persue the vegas 9 network rendering, here is what you do.
1. Load a copy of vegas 9 on rendering PC and activate it using the same serial number as your main PC.
2. On your rendering PC start the program called network rendering, check the box that says allow network render, and tell it to automatically start at boot.
3. On your master PC, start the same network rendering program and tell it to automatically launch at startup.
4. On both pcs, mount the storage location with the same letter say y. So in this explanation, your video is on a storage server Y: some name
5. On the rendering program on the master PC, choose add a renderer, and select the server pc.
6. When you are on your master, when you are in Vegas, tell it to render and check the box that says use network computers. It will ask you which one, and select your server PC.Which step are you getting stuck at?

I thought of that too.
The challenge is that the destination project already has menues and media in it. If I follow the suggestion I end up starting over on one half or the other.
I am familiar in Vegas with opening both projects, then selection the parts I want from one and copying them to the other project. I use it a lot.
But it does not seem to be working the same in Architect unless I am doing something wrong.
