Yes, you can delay the graininess.
Set the shutter to either automatic or 1/48, which it probably defaults to.
That will give you the most light. The graininess is from the automatic gain. The more gain, the more grain. Since you don’t have fast moving objects, the slower shutter should work nicely.

There is not one that I am aware of either.
To shoot time lapse you need an external device that controls the camera through its lanc remote control jack.

The answer is no.
Focus and depth of field are independent and turning off macro focus won’t affect the depth of field.
Here is a scenario that I have turned off macro focus.
I was shooting a baseball game from behind home plate through a net. I had the camera as close to the net as I could, which was about 2 inches from the front of the plastic lenscover deal.I want to focus on the batter about 15 feet away. At first I had Macro focus on. The auto focus would work, and the netting acroos my lens was so close, it would virtually disappear. However, if I followed the player to first base, the autofocus would focus on the net.
With Macrofocus turned off, it would disregard the netting, and I could stay focused on the player or the outfield.

The thought behind the settings for time lapse are the same as regular. Only you have to think of how the scene will change and where the light will be coming from throughout the duration.
1. Start with the thought of everything automatic.
2. Then think of what are trying to show, if it is the building itself, I would go to manual focus, and focus on the building. That way autofocus won’t change due to things moving in the picture.
Then start thinking about overiding the automatic settings.3. If things are going to be moving in your picture, like cars moving, decide if you want them to show up, or don’t. If you do, then you want to shoot at a higher shutter speed, like around 1/200th of a second. If you want them to not show up, then go slow like 1/60th.
4. The leaves your aperature as the only thing left. Let that stay on automatic.5. Alternatively, if you want to make sure everything is always in focus, set your iris to something smaller, like 5, or 6. Then let the shutter speed change automatically.

There is not a firewire output from the camera, so the short answer is no.
Howevever, the sdi output sends 422, so you can get a pc card that has an sdi input. That would allow you to get the 422 colorspace.
The other outputs are composite, which does not send 422 colorspace.
Then there is component output and HDMI output, I do not know if either or both of them send 422 colorspace or not. But there are component and HDMI inputs on computer cards.

I was whining about upgrading to windows 7 a few months ago. I was feeling like it was a mountain to climb.
Steve suggested the above, which, in essence, is to load the windows 7 on one hard drive while keeping xp on the original hard drive
I spent 5 weeks getting all the drivers, and little utilites updated to the windows 7, but now it works great. And if I forgot something I still have xp hanging off this machine.

It is trying to tell you the slowest that makes sense.
If you shoot at 60i, the slowest that makes sense is 1/60th.
If you shoot at 24p, 1/24th would be way too slow, so they default to telling you that 1/48 is the slowest that makes sense.However, you can set it to anything you want.
If you are shooting slow moving objects, the 1/48 gives a pleasing motion blur that is movie ish.If you are shooting high speed sports like your kid’s hockey game, you want to be shooting more like 1/180 if you ever want to get a frame grab or do slow motion with it.
