Hello again,
I did the User privy’s check/update earlier – and the main user is an admin user.
However – on today’s check – I found no Virus software on the individual machines. It’s all taken care of by a MAc adress validation. proxy, firwall, virus checking system at the ‘gate’s’ of the company. (Som of the people using AE also use the machines for FinalC and have a need for full-speed machines, so they are not happy about f.inst. having anti virus sw running on the macxhines – as well as as much as possible has been switched off for speed reasons).
I did find that I could log on as Root – and key in the s/n – and then AE worked fine – even after restart. I have instructed the local It guy to try and do a clean root-install and see if it does the trick.
Will get back as soon as I know the results of this test

The sw is definitely legit. It is the Danish State Television..hehe..
– but you are right that it is a site license – and therefore the same s/n on all machines.
I got the idea that the reason for the problem might be:
1) Virex – which they have oon all machines – and I have been experiencing problems with Anti-virus sw before (f.inst Norton AV and Photoshop)
and/or
2) The network. They are behind a rather elaborate and extensive firewall, proxy etc. so if the app ‘phones home’ to be able to work that might be the cause (A strange thing is that the s/n is accepted and the app works – but there’s not any ‘activation request’ – and the Activation menu is dimmed. (will try to install on a formatted machine to see if the regular s/n, activation process is able to go through.
