Theoretically you could get a long 300ft Thunderbolt cable and run it between two macs for faster speeds. El Capitan might be required for that to work correctly. Bob Zelin would know.

Mine seems to be working ok, but with a 1 second delay.

I think the last update was more of a setup for El Capitan. Things seemed to be pretty speedy on my home system which is running the beta.

Ok, I thought it was just me. This has been going on a few days now but I thought I was my internet connection.

Oliver is right about the compound clip. We usually create one, throw this effect on it, export, and then break it apart so we can keep working.

With all due respect Oliver this is outdated info. With the last update you can save your settings for any effect as a unique effect, as well as a preset from within an effect (in some cases).

Just click the ‘Save Effects Preset’ and name your effect whatever you want. We call our compressor rough cut preset ‘Taint’, because it provides a decent leveling of everything, and the audio quality is in between a standard rough cut and final mix.

Try Effects, Compressor.
Change compressor threshold to 0. Click the bottom right “limiter’ box. Use the “Limiter Threshold” meter to set your limit to 0, -5, -10, etc. That should do what you want.

Personally I set my Compressor Threshold to -10 and set my Limiter Threshold to about -5. Brings up things that are too low and limits anything too hot. Nice for client rough cuts. Play with the settings, knee, etc. You might find a setting you like, if you do, save it as a preset or as a unique effect and you can quickly apply it to all future rough cuts if needed.

Just a little update. We’re having lots of fun using Frame.io as we trust it more with projects. One downside was there’s no custom URL embedding option, but we’ve found a way around that by building our own short code generator called ‘yourls’. Now, we copy the share link created by Frame, paste it into our yourls generator, add any keywords we want, and poof, there’s our custom domain name link that goes to to the frame.io page.

100% the easiest solution and if you share a folder, anything you add to that folder will automatically update to the page. This is nice if you’re adding things over time, like props or set pieces that the group is considering. Also, links are permanent like in box. If you share something, the link to it will stick if you put it in a folder later.

LOVE the markup options and comments on cuts. Much less confusion now on notes.

Frame.io is like the chalkboard in class. Vimeo is the school paper. Box is the library. There’s a use for them all.

I do hope they come up with an iPhone app. Mobile is a little weak.
